Mobile Music Therapy Services of Orange County provides services according to the Standards of Clinical Practice of the American Music Therapy Association and the Scope of Practice of the Certification Board for Music Therapists. Music therapy may be provided individually, in small groups, or in large groups. Services may be coordinated with therapists from other disciplines; other health care professionals; or, as part of a plan of care developed by the treatment team.
Gerontology
Specialties include wellness, hospice, dementia, rehabilitation, and other diseases and conditions.
Developmental Special Needs
Specialties include profoundly affected and medically fragile persons unable to participate in any daily living activities through those living independently. Focus includes, but is not limited to: speech and language stimulation, behavioral needs, neurological stimulation, motor skill development, cognition, positive social interactions, and awareness of and respect for feelings and self worth.
Psychiatry
Specialties include but are not limited to: maintaining attention to and completion of tasks; awareness of and appropriate expression of feelings; experiencing success; learning to set and achieve goals; organizing thought sequencing through structured music; enhancing interactive and social skills through the group process; redirection of behaviors which adversely affect an individual's quality of life; and reinforcing the client's active participation in his or her own care.
Non-Public Agency
Mobile Music Therapy Services of Orange County is a Non-Public Agency, certified by the State of California to provide services to special education students in school settings.
